Psychologist

Kassie believes that everyone deserves a chance at complete recovery. Her clients describe her as genuine, empathic, intuitive and down to earth.

Kassie’s interest in eating disorders stemmed from personal exposure to eating disorders. The combination of her personal experiences and her love of psychology resulted in a drive to work with eating disorders in an attempt to make a difference in people’s lives.

Kassie not only enjoys working with a variety of diagnoses but also a range of age groups. She particularly enjoys working with youth (16-30) and has gained valuable experience working with a range of diagnoses in this age group through her previous and current experience. She has worked with many cases of anxiety, depression and trauma amongst other diagnoses.

Kassie also enjoys working with a wide range of cultures. Growing up in the western suburbs and coming from an Italian heritage, she has been exposed to a wide variety of cultures and appreciates cultural diversity.

Kassie has worked with many regional clients through Skype. Skype allows her to work with clients who do not have any local specialised services by removing the hours of travel previously required to seek support. Skype works in much the same way as face-to-face therapy does, however it is done through the computer and all resources can be sent via email.

Kassie uses an eclectic approach, individually catered to suite each client’s needs. She incorporates evidence based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and Psychotherapy among others.

She holds a Bachelor of Psychology and is also an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society. Kassie has been a part of the BodyMatters team since 2012 and has also gained experience in the field of eating disorders from working at Northside West in the Inpatient and Day programs for eating disorders. She has also worked  at Sydney University and currently holds a position working as a high school counsellor.

Kassie has also developed the ‘Kid’s Corner’ on our webpage which consists of a number of resources aimed at children to help break down complicated concepts into language they can better understand.

Kassie is available Saturdays.
