Psychologist (Telehealth)

Katrina is a warm and emphatic Psychologist at BodyMatters. Katrina is passionate in exploring ways with her clients to instil meaning and purpose in their life to make valued life changes. Katrina has a particular interest in working with people undertaking bariatric surgery, providing family support and practical meal support for individuals experiencing disordered eating, providing individual therapy and relationship counselling.

Katrina takes a person-centered and eclectic approach that is tailored to meet the individual needs of her clients. Katrina is committed to providing current and effective treatment. Her therapeutic approach incorporates evidence based psychological therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectal Behaviour Therapy, Couple Therapy and Family Therapy.

Katrina has held a position as a psychologist for The Butterfly Foundation for Eating Disorders – Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This is a specialist outpatient eating disorder treatment services that provides intensive group therapy and meal support to young adults and adults diagnosed with an eating disorder. Katrina also facilitates group family therapy sessions. She strongly believes that families play a pivotal role in helping the person obtain full recovery from an eating disorder. Katrina has experience working within psychiatric hospitals, non for profit community organisations, outpatient group treatment services and private practice. Katrina has also previously held the position of Support Counsellor at The Butterfly Foundation for Eating Disorders. Katrina is also experienced in providing treatment for children and adults with diverse presentations including depression, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, drug and alcohol issues, obsessive compulsive disorder, relationship issues, and personality disorders.

Katrina is an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and a member of the Australian New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED). She holds the qualifications of Bachelor of Arts, Major in Psychology, Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology, and Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Psychology.

Katrina currently sees clients via e-therapy.
