We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychologist to join our team as an Eating Disorder Clinician. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a pivotal role in providing psychological assessment and therapy to clients experiencing various forms of disordered eating. You will collaborate closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalised treatment plans that address the complex psychological factors underlying disordered eating behaviours.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate clients mental health as well as their relationship with food and body image.
  • Provide evidence-based treatment
  • Collaborate with our medical and dietetic staff to ensure coordinated and integrated care for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in the field of eating disorders, integrating new insights into clinical practice.
  • Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and expertise.

 

Essential Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA.
  • Specialised training or experience in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders, preferably with a focus on evidence-based interventions.
  • Strong clinical skills, including the ability to establish rapport, conduct thorough assessments, and implement effective therapeutic techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to cultural competence, diversity, and inclusivity in clinical practice.
  • Compassionate and nonjudgmental attitude towards individuals struggling with eating disorders, with a dedication to promoting recovery and healing.

 

Desired Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Clinical Endorsement as a Psychologist.
  • Holding your NEDC credential- and/or willingness to obtain this.
  • Previous experience in working with eating disorders.
  • Having completed training in at least two evidence based models of treatment for eating disorders.
  • Proficiency in delivering at least two evidence based models of treatment for eating disorders (eg CBT-E, MFBT, SSCM etc).
  • Willingness to work with children and adolescent populations experiencing eating disorders
  • A thorough understanding of medicare benefits, including EDTPs and MHCPs.
