Come along and learn how to make a Macrame plant hanger and practice mindfulness in a safe and nurturing environment!
This workshop will also provide you with an opportunity to practice mindfulness during a fun and creative activity. During this workshop you will learn how to make a plant hanger to take home for yourself or as a gift for a friend or family member.

Macramé is a textile which is produced using a range of knotting techniques.

‘Mindfulness’ simply means paying attention to the present moment. Practising mindfulness can help you to cope with tough times in your daily life and can help you to relax, concentrate and be more productive.

Beginner class. No experience is necessary! All materials will be provided.

Who are your facilitators?

The facilitators for the Macrame and Mindfulness! are:

Angela Daley

Angela Daley provides Recovery Support at BodyMatters through teaching bespoke macrame crafting skills that promote the mindful, scandinavian hygge lifestyle philosophy.

Angela has always had a love for design- especially the handmade- and is passionate about  nature, recycling old materials and simplicity. She came across the Danish word ‘hygge’ and she brings this concept into her life and her designs as much as possible. To hygge is to pay attention to what makes us feel open hearted and alive, create well-being and to belong to each moment and to each other. Angela inspires us to slow down and appreciate the simpler things in life.

Angela is committed to helping people find an outlet to cope with mental illness. In her Mindful Macrame workshops, Angela teaches basic macrame techniques, specificly completing a wall hanging and/or plant hanger. You will be able to take home your piece and also be able to connect with other people that are recovering from an eating disorder in a relaxed and safe environment.

Angela’s workshops are held on the second Saturday of the month and are co facilitated by an Intern Psychologist.
