Psychologist

Andrea is a psychologist who believes that effective therapy hinges on a trusting and collaborative relationship between the therapist and the client.

Andrea is passionate about helping individuals with body image, eating and weight-related concerns, navigate through eating disorder recovery.  She uses treatments with an evidence base including Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E) incorporating Compassion Focussed strategies and mindfulness. She is also trained in Family Based Therapy (Maudsley Model). She supports the Health at Every Size (HAES) approach and works from a non-dieting framework. Andrea believes that treatments should be tailored to meet the individual needs of every client’s unique history, current circumstances, and mental health concerns.

Andrea also has experience working with people suffering with anxiety and panic disorders, depression, self-esteem issues, and perfectionism. Additionally, she has worked in breast cancer and oncology research using interventions to assist with emotional distress, trauma and body shame.

Andrea graduated with a Bachelor of Science Psychology Honours (class 1) from Macquarie University and has completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and has a national registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
