Psychologist & Family Therapist (Telehealth)

Ellen (She/Her) is Psychologist passionate about helping people of all ages, genders, shapes, sizes, abilities, and cultures improve their relationship with food and their body. Her therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Maudsley Family Based Therapy (MFBT) and motivational interviewing.
The last 10 years has seen Ellen working in multiple different contexts treating a range of psychological presentations for Australia Defence Force Members, vocational rehabilitation at the Liverpool Brain Injury Unit and previously worked as a Helpline Counsellor at the Butterfly Foundation for Eating Disorders and has experience facilitating Recovery and Carer Support Groups.
Ellen utilises a HAES and non-diet approach when working with her clients. Ellen enjoys working within multidisciplinary teams and understands how crucial communication and collaboration across providers is in achieving positive patient outcomes.
Ellen has a special interest in supporting first nations individuals, and clients from the LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse community. Ellen has extensive experience working with individuals with trauma and acquired disabilities such as brain injuries and spinal cord injuries.
Ellen currently holds a Double Degree, Bachelor of Health and a Bachelor of Arts- Psychology, Masters of Rehabilitation Counselling, Graduate Diploma of Psychology Advanced and Masters of Professional Psychology. Ellen holds general registration with AHPRA and is a Australian and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED) credentialed Mental Health Clinician.
