Psychologist (Telehealth)
Faimun is a registered psychologist and a member of Australian Psychological Society (APS). She has completed a Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition, Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Psychology, Bachelor of Education (Secondary) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology.
Faimun has always had a keen interest in eating behaviours and its relationship between mind, body and mental wellbeing. Faimun always strives to provide personalised and high quality support and guidance to help you overcome your challenges.
Faimun has experience working in private practice as well as in school settings. She enjoys working with people from different age groups and from diverse cultural backgrounds. She has a range of experience working with young people and their families from conducting psychometric assessments to providing counselling for anxiety, depression, trauma, peer relationship difficulties, behavioural difficulties and issues with body image.
Prior to working as a psychologist, Faimun was teaching as a high school teacher in Science and Food Technology. She has also worked as a diet supervisor in a number of hospitals around Sydney. Faimun brings along a wide range of experiences from various positions that she has held in her career. Faimun has undertaken specialist training in Maudsley Family Therapy. She also uses a wide range of evidence based therapeutic approach within her counselling work such as CBT, ACT, family focused therapy, solution focussed therapy and DBT.
Faimun is available for appointments at BodyMatters on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
