Psychologist & Family Therapist
Joss Armstrong is a Psychologist who utilises a client-centred, supportive and empathic approach. She recognises the importance of working with where the client is at in their recovery journey. Joss is passionate about helping individuals with disordered eating and body image concerns build a healthy relationship with food and their body. She also has a special interest in the treatment of adolescents with an eating disorder, utilising Family Based Therapy.
Joss is trained in Family Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She has experience working with a range of comorbidities including depression, anxiety and ADHD.
Joss’ interest in eating disorders comes from recognising the impact that diet culture and body shaming have on young people and the lasting effects that can have on people of all ages.
Joss holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science majoring in Counselling and Interpersonal Skills, a Graduate Diploma in Psychological Science and a Master of Professional Psychology. Joss is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED) and is registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist.
Joss is available for appointments at BodyMatters on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
