Mihaela is a Counsellor and a member of Australian Counselling Association, who also holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology with University of Zagreb, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

She is also a Systemic Family Constellations Facilitator and a Reiki Master Teacher, and has training in Yalom Process Group Psychotherapy, Schema Therapy for Eating Disorders and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).

Mihaela has lived experience of an eating disorder, having been recovered for many years, which is the foundation of her therapeutic approach. Her therapeutic style is warm, holistic, integrative, collaborative, and based on unconditional acceptance of all our parts, which aligns with the Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach. Aligned with Carolyn Costin’s holistic approach, she believes in not exiling the eating disorder part, but rather helping it transform and integrate with the healthy part so the purpose it serves can be fulfilled in ways aligned with one’s integrity and values. Mihaela also understands, having both her own lived experience and the experience of being a therapist and supporting others on their journey, that recovery consists of not only transforming the relationship with food and body, but also reconnecting with deeper parts of oneself in order to truly heal.

Mihaela also has experience working with addictions, co-dependence and other mental health issues in inpatient and outpatient setting. She has been a Counsellor at The Butterfly Foundation Helpline for Eating Disorders since 2018, facilitating Recovery Support Groups and a wide range of other programs.

Mihaela sees clients on Mondays.
