KEY DUTIES
- Provision of evidence based therapeutic input for individuals, families and groups
- Provision of discrete therapeutic services, such as relaxation skills, distress tolerance skills etc
- Maintain records of all interactions to a professional standard
- Enforce and follow up cancellation/ rescheduling fees
- Maintain & build relationships with various stakeholders, including GPs, psychiatrists and other allied health practitioners
- Write letters for various stakeholders, including GPs, psychiatrists and other allied health practitioners
- Administer comprehensive psychological assessments upon referrals, including administer of psychometric tests, review of relevant client case history
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Full registration with the Psychology Board or Australian Association of Social Workers & eligibility for Medicare rebates
- Interest in working with people experiencing body image, eating, and weight concerns, as well as exercise-related issues
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use or acquire expertise in the use of electronic records systems and databases (training will be provided)
- Familiarity with issues comorbid with eating disorders, such as depression, anxiety, personality issues, & complex trauma
- General registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA
- Completion of a Clinical Master’s degree enabling eligibility to commence the Registrar Program
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in a private practice setting
- Demonstrated experience in building relationships with stakeholders
- Familiarity with a health based paradigm- and willingness to operate within this framework

- Employment is on a contracting basis
