Hiro is a Registered Psychologist and a member of both the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the
Australian and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED).
Prior to becoming a psychologist, Hiro worked as a counsellor at a private practice, a psychiatric clinic,
several international schools, as well as an EAP (Employee Assistance Program) in Singapore and
Malaysia. Being bi-lingual (English/Japanese) has enabled her to work with a diverse range of people
experiencing major life challenges in areas such as eating disorders, trauma, addiction, marriage & family,
mood disorders and school-related problems.
Hiro strongly believes that a healthy therapeutic relationship is the key to a successful recovery from
psychological challenges. She focuses on providing a safe environment for clients to reflect on their issues
and explore ways to move forward with a more fulfilling life.
Her professional interests lie in improving the lives of those who suffer from eating disorders as well as
those who silently suffer from an unhealthy relationship between eating and body image. Hiro is also
interested in and has extensive experience in neurocognitive assessment (E.g., Developmental disorders
such as ADHD, Specific Learning Disorders). She is also passionate about improving the mental health of
migrants and refugee families.

Hiro holds a Master of Science in Psychology and Master of Social Science (Counselling)
