BodyMatters Australasia's dietitian for eating disorders

Julia is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian at BodyMatters. She holds a Bachelor of Nutrition
and Dietetics, a research Master’s degree, and is a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician with the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders (ANZAED). Julia is a
dedicated dietitian specializing in eating disorders, driven by a profound compassion for
those navigating the complexities of their relationship with food. With a deep understanding
of the nuanced interplay between nutrition and mental health, she approaches her work with
empathy, sensitivity, and a commitment to fostering healing and empowerment. Julia's
holistic approach extends beyond dietary guidance; she seeks to cultivate a safe space
where individuals feel seen, heard, and understood. She assists them in their path to
recovery, collaboratively striving for a life that resonates with their values, all the while
rediscovering a serene bond with both food and self. Emphasizing the importance of the
therapeutic alliance, she collaborates closely with clients to customize treatment sessions according to their unique needs.

Julia has experience working within the public health system in Newcastle and Maitland for
both inpatients and outpatients, including at the Centre for Psychotherapy’s Eating Disorder
Day Program. Her experience extends to children, adolescents, adults, and older people
effected by a variety of eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder,
