Psychologist & Family Therapist

Kate is passionate about mental health and working holistically with people to help boost resilience while working towards their goals. Kate has a warm, collaborative and person-centred approach with genuine care for her clients. Her focus is on building a strong therapeutic relationship while using evidence-based therapies tailored to the individual to help reach their goals. She is particularly interested in working with clients walking through eating disorders, anxiety, depression and trauma-related issues implementing aspects of different therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT) including exposure therapy, Schema Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). Kate also works therapeutically with families using Maudsley Family-Based Therapy (MFBT) to help children and teenagers recover from eating disorders.

 
Kate has 11 years of experience working with children and adolescents in Out of Home Care therapeutic group homes experiencing trauma-related difficulties, anxiety, depression, and challenging behaviours. She is also experienced working in a school environment as a School Counsellor. Additionally Kate has experience living and working abroad as an ESL teacher of non-English speaking students.
 
Kate is fully registered with AHPRA as a psychologist. She has attained a Masters of General Psychology, a Graduate Diploma in Psychology, a BA in Behavioural Studies (Psychology), and she is a member of the Australian Psychological Association.
