Intern Psychologist

Kate is a provisional psychologist passionate about mental health and working holistically with people to help boost resilience while working towards their goals. Kate has a warm, collaborative and person-centred approach with genuine care for her clients. Her focus is on building a strong therapeutic relationship while using evidence-based therapies tailored to the individual to help reach their goals.  She is particularly interested in working with clients walking through anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and trauma-related issues using aspects of different therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT) including exposure therapy, behavioural activation and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).

The last 11 years has seen Kate working mostly with children and adolescents in Out of Home Care therapeutic group homes experiencing trauma-related difficulties, anxiety, depression, and challenging behaviours. She has also worked in a school with primary students as a provisional school psychologist. Additionally Kate lived abroad while working with all kinds of clients with non-English speaking backgrounds in a language teaching capacity.

Kate currently holds a BA in Behavioural Studies (Psychology), a Graduate Diploma in Psychology and a Master’s in Professional Psychology, and she is a member of the Australian Psychological Association. She has national registration with AHPRA as a provisional psychologist working towards full registration.
